Happy New Year

2015 was an amazing year. We enjoyed the holiday's and watching the kids have even more fun. Large, Medium, and Small chose their own costumes this year and they did great with all the Halloween events! I wasn't aware of how much candy and sweets were given out to kids at school until I witnessed it. The candy starts pouring out about a week before Halloween and continues until they get out of school for winter break. We actually had to bribe them not to eat the candy and have them trade it in for money. It worked...sometimes, but Small is still adjusting to eating real food again. He started skipping lunch because the candy canes are better and who needs a functional brain anyway.
For Halloween, we had Spider-Man, a skeleton, and Frozen's Elsa. Thanks to the help of Gigi for dolling up Large with a complete Frozen dress, Large looked amazing. I had the pleasure of taking Small around to his school trick-or-treating and he was the most adorable Spider-Man ever!
Thanksgiving and Christmas were just as fun. Lots of food, lots of family, more candy, and lots of food (yes I said food twice!) Again, what is it with all the candy. The last day of school, Large and Medium, were given root beer floats, cookies, and candy...then sent home with an apology from on the teachers when parents arrived to pick them up :) They had to sleep it off like a hangover.
Christmas morning was magical for the kids. They hear stories about Santa at school and always come home wondering, but all of the skepticism seemed to fade away when they got up and saw presents they had never seen before. They went to sleep with wonders of if Santa would fill a stocking, and woke up to a full stocking with amazing Nevada gear (for a growing Wolf Pack.) Just how long will the magic continue?
New Years Eve, Jay drug us all downtown for the Believe sculpture event in the afternoon. The kids got to wear the New Years bling they made but mostly hugged their blankets and begged for hot chocolate in the 20 degree weather. Fortunately, the half hour event went quickly and we were soon at home for the evening. After hosting three holiday parties and attending at least five more, we rung in the new year with Granny and my niece at home. We all made it to the countdown and enjoyed a toast of sparking apple cider before dancing to the firework broadcast show.
Now, as we look forward to a new year, we have so many possibilities as we finish our year together.
